​Demonstration of Activities by the Partner Schools in Thailand during 2022 “Green Lifestyle for Children in Lancang-Mekong Countries” Program

2022 “Green Lifestyle for Children in Lancang-Mekong Countries” Program was launched in Beijing, China in September. Traimit Wittayalai High School and Maha Villanua Primary School in Bangkok, Thailand, as the partner schools of this program, have actively participated in it and organized various activities for primary and secondary school students.

Under the guidance of teachers, the students have created various visual art works themed on "Diversified Lives and Colorful World". They pick up brushes to paint the beautiful world in their eyes. Their works vividly show the ecological and cultural characteristics of the Lancang-Mekong Region.

Traimit Wittayalai High School in Bangkok, Thailand attaches great importance to environmental education in its daily teaching, and carries out a series of activities such as environmental protection summer camp, environmental protection video collection, poster production and "garbage bank", and so on. Students make videos advocating energy conservation and environmental protection; they also elect energy conservation and environmental protection leaders and hold many seminars, make posters for environmental protection, and promote environmental protection activities in the school; moreover, they take the waste to the designated waste-purchasing points in the community for sale, as well as conducting the "garbage bank" activity.

Maha Villanua Primary School in Bangkok, Thailand, focuses on the theme of environmental education and offers various forms of participatory activities according to the age of students. For students from kindergarten to Grade 3, teachers are mainly responsible for knowledge input, including explaining environmental problems, proposing solutions and spreading the concept of environmental protection. During the activities for students from Grade three to Grade six, students can learn relevant knowledge independently, and teachers are responsible for providing instructions for specific practices, including planting trees, tree care, improving the overall school environment, recycling garbage and making art works. In this way, students have enhanced their awareness about environmental protection and exercise their practical abilities in specific activities.
