I. Basic situation

Vientiane Liao Du Chinese School, founded in 1937, has a history of 85 years. The school covers an area of 13000 square meters. It is a full-time public Chinese and Laotian school founded by overseas Chinese under the leadership of the Vientiane Chinese Council in Laos. The current Chairman and Headmaster of Vientiane Liao Du Chinese School is Mr. Lin Junxiong, President of the Lao Chinese Education Federation and Vice President of the Vientiane Chinese Council in Laos.

The school is one of the famous Chinese language education schools in Southeast Asia, and also the most influential Chinese language school in Laos. It has kindergartens, primary schools, junior high schools, senior high schools and the preparatory course classes for universities. With the formulation of the school's mission of "acquiring knowledge through practice and applying knowledge to practice", the school implements the teaching mode of bilingual teaching in both Chinese and Laotian. Its teaching achievements are among the best in Laos. It has cultivated a large number of bilingual talents in both Chinese and Laotian, and won a good reputation in society.

By 2022, the school has 62 teaching classes, with 3106 student at school in total, 80% of whom are local students in Laos, the rest are children of overseas Chinese in China, Thailand, Japan, Vietnam, Myanmar and India, etc., and many descendants of senior officials of the Lao government are studying in this school.

II. Cooperation with China

(I) In 2016, Premier Li Keqiang visited the school and communicated with local teachers and students.

(II) The school has cooperated with the Chinese Embassy in Laos, the Overseas Chinese Affairs Office of the State Council of China, the Yunnan Provincial Government, the Laos-China Cultural Center, the China-Laos Friendship Association, the Lao-China Association for the Promotion of Peaceful Reunification and other institutions.

(III) By 2022, the school has sent hundreds of fresh senior high school graduates to study in Huaqiao University, Jinan University, Guangxi Minzu University, Yunnan University, Xiamen University and Thailand universities, etc.

(IV) The school once submitted painting works to our center in the International Youth Painting Invitation Exhibition of 100 Days Countdown to the 2021 Winter Olympics "Blessing the Winter Olympics. Realizing the Dream of Ice and Snow".
